Tekila Mexican Bar & Grill · Charlottetown

La barra

The bar & the music

Tequila is not a party drink here. It is a rich, complex spirit, and the back bar treats it that way, with a selection the house calls the best on Prince Edward Island.

The list

Tequila & mezcal

The bar works through blancos, reposados and añejos, with mezcal alongside for anyone who likes a little smoke. Ask what is drinking well right now; the list rewards curiosity.

The margarita flights are the famous part, and the reason many tables start at the bar before they sit down to eat.

The mixes

Cocktails & sodas

Margaritas come on the rocks with fresh citrus and dressed rims. Not drinking? The fridge holds Jarritos in a row of flavours, cold and bright against anything spicy.

For a quiet finish, the dessert plate and a pour of something aged make a strong argument for staying longer.

Most evenings

Live music, 6 to 9

The room was built for this: dinner on one side, a guitarist or a duo on the other, and the line between the two dissolving by the second set. Live sets run from 6 to 9 in the evening.

The week's lineup is posted on the restaurant's Facebook page. Music evenings fill in early, so a reservation is a good idea.
